How do I show actual code inside a WordPress blog post?

The code button doesn't appear to work... I don't want to do an image but I will if I have to.

You can use the Preformatted paragraph option located in the toolbar above where you type in the content for a post.

You can also use the Syntax Highlighter plugin to display code on your blog: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/syntaxhighlighter/

I didn't see any Preformatted paragraph option mentioned...

That should give you a better idea of where the option is located.

Hmmm that doesn't seem to effect it unfortunately... Is that plugin the only option then? (I always try and avoid plugins when possible)

What kind of code are you trying to show? PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Ruby, Python, ASP.NET?
