[resolved] How do I send an email to every time I create a new post? (8 posts)

    Hi,

Basically, I want to allow people to subscribe to my site and have the option to receive an email whenever I publish a new post?

Can I do this with Jetpack? I know I can publish to Facebook, Twitter, etc.. but that's not what I want. I just want people to be able to subscribe to the blog on my home page and then allow them to receive an email whenever I create a new post.

    How do I do this?

Is there another plugin that does this easily?

    Thanks,
    Gio

Hi! Our Subscriptions module is exactly what you are looking for!

Let me know if you have any questions about it!

Thanks! I tried it a few days ago but it didn't appear to be working correctly at the time. It seems to be good now.

How do I manage my subscribers?

Hi! What do you mean by "manage", exactly? Using Jetpack subscriptions, the subscriptions are controlled by the individual subscribers, not by the site owner. You can't add or remove anyone yourself. However, you can download a csv list of all of your subscribers. Can you let me know what it is you'd like to do?

I guess I just want to have control of my subscribers, meaning if I wanted to remove or block people, or maybe I just want to selectively send subscribers messages.

I just like having control. I know other plugins give you more options with subscribers.

At the moment, it doesn't really matter to me as I have zero subscribers, but I'm just thinking ahead so if the day comes when I have a lot of subscribers, I'd like to have control over these people. Yes, I like control and options ;)

    Thanks,
    Gio

    Hi Gio,

I totally understand. In that case, Jetpack subscriptions may not be the best option for you. The great thing about Jetpack though is that you can turn off that module and use something else, and continue to use the rest of Jetpack at the same time!

    Thanks,

Jetpack is fantastic for many reason, and I really like how the module system, not to mention the diverse functionality it provides. Thanks for informing me of this specific limitation and if I decide I need more control over subscribers I can look at other plugins for this purpose.

I truly appreciate your help. Thank-you.
