    Check into my site @ http://www.acornbbs.com and you will see text above the website name on just about every page. (Black text on the dark grey border). Can someone tell me if this is required for SEO or is it something I've done wrong?

    If you can suggest how I can get rid of it, I would appreciate it. Thank you!

    I may not be able to help you with your problem, but if you don't mind, one comment:

    Your site has amazing effects! However it took forever for the page to load on my computer. Does this happen by others too?

    Is your company ready for new business development?, There’s a fifth key to growth and that is marketing!, What does all this have to do with professional services companies attracting new business, How are new clients going to be attracted to their respective companies? More than a few people have asked what ‘positioning’ a product means.

    if you mean this
    i can tell you a way
    download
    notepad++
    download your theme on your computer
    press search copy any words from this text
    and paste it in the search in notepad++
    press find in files locate the theme folder
    and press find all
    that will show you the place of this text
    simply delete it
    and save and upload the modified file again

    seems to be related to 'seo platinum' -

    double check all your settings and what you have entered into the fields.

    or try to deactivate the plugin, and if that helps to remove the text, try to find a different seo plugin to work with.
    or upload a fresh copy of the plugin.

    When you say..."seems to be related to SEO Platinum"...is that because you have also incurred this problem?

    "...is that because you have also incurred this problem?

    this is not the issue here - what is the result of deactivating the platinmu seo plugin?

    your site for instance puts this into the browser:

    <!-- platinum seo pack 1.3.7 -->
    <meta name="robots" content="index,follow,noodp,noydir" />
    <meta name="description" content="Marketing for Professional Services companies. ACORN's Blog Page. Blogs and articles about marketing for professional services companies." />
    <meta name="keywords" content="Is your company ready for new business development? Being better at new business development, new business development, catalysts for growth, business building solutions, The Challenges of Marketing Professional Services Firms, business growth, grow your business, get new clients, E-Marketing Information, Prospectors, business personality, positioning, position, getting new clients," />

    <link rel="canonical" href="http://acornbbs.com/" />
    <!-- /platinum one seo pack -->

    the part of the above within html or meta tags is fine - the text outside of the tags is what you see on the screen above the header.

    I'm having a bit of a problem understanding all of this. I'm not as advanced as you apparently are at this.

    One aspect that may be causing this problem is likely something that I've done wrong, or not done at all! Perhaps it's some settings that I've not implemented properly, such as %post_title% | %blog_title%. Should I remove one of these options? Likewise with the other options: %page_title% | %blog_title% : %category_title% | %blog_title% : %term% | %blog_title% : %date% | %blog_title% : %tag% | %blog_title% : %search% | %blog_title% and so on. Should I have elininated one of each of these options?

    I want to thank sm_rasmy for the post about notepad++. That is the answer to all my issues! It not only showed me how to fix one problem, but how to edit a whole host of others and I learned where to find what files and how to edit them!

    Thank you!!
