No, it’s not you. Now instead of the words “Posted on by ” there are two symbols that I suppose represents those words? Does this make sense? The two symbols are where the words used to be. I want them gone.
Can I just get clear which site is yours? Presumably http://www.hiphillbillyfarm.com? That’s the one I see the symbols on, anyway.
And can you say what theme you’re using so I can download it and see in which file the code occurs that outputs the symbols? Is it the ‘Weaver’ theme?
Finally, I should say that if you don’t have a decent knowledge of PHP/HTML/CSS you might want to think about whether you really want to do this. If you do, I would very strongly advise you to make your changes in a Child Theme.
I don’t want to discourage you. I just don’t think that following instructions blindly is necessarily a good thing to do. Changes have a habit of creating unforeseen consequences that have to be dealt with. For a start, the change you are thinking about (and depending on how your theme is structured) could mean having to make changes in the main template file that outputs the blog listing, any template file that deals with category lists, and the template file that deals with displaying a single post.
The theme might be structured so as to deal with all these in a single file, but if it does, that file will be quite complex and you’ll need to be happy that you can identify exactly where to make your changes.

Weaver theme is being used on our Hip Hillbilly Farm dot com site.

Alas, I have rudimentary knowledge of HTML (how to make a link to go email, how to bold, underline, etc.) 🙁 You are right, I’ve always followed instructions “blindly”. Aww man. I was really hoping this would be a simple thing. It’s just I was advised that it is better for niche blogging to not have dates showing so the site doesn’t become “dated” or seem obsolete to readers.

Oh, and what’s worse, I have heard of this “Child Theme” but have no clue on how to use it properly. 😐
Making a child theme is trivial. It takes about 5 minutes to make a minimal child theme. Just follow the instructions at the end of the link I supplied in my previous post.
If you’re not happy doing that, then I’d really advise against making the changes you’re talking about, because they will be much more complex than just making a child theme. But if you do decide you want to go ahead, I’ll certainly try to help you – as will others, I’m sure.
