How do I put space between bullet points? (6 posts)

    OK please note I am not a programmer or even a basic HTML person. I have put a list of 3 bullet points in my page but the spacing between the lines is non-existent and not like the rest of the copy. I saw a previous forum post which said:

    add new style to style.css (at the end)

    .entry li {
    padding-bottom: 10px;
    }

    Ok so I went into Appearance/Editor and as instructed pasted in the above code at the bottom. But guess what? Nothing changed. Any ideas? Please keep things easy to understand for a non-tecchie like me.
    Thanks

    I'm guessing you're hosting with a subdomain at wordpress.com (ie: asdf.wordpress.com)? If so, most themes do not allow you to edit the style.css, which is where you're supposed to put the code. Appearance/Editor would not be the style.css.

    If it's unlike other similarly formatted lists on your page, there is probably an html or CSS error in your code -- if you post a link to your site, someone can likely help you with that. Or see Validating a Site.

    That code above only works if your html is coded exactly the same way...the CSS class (.entry) must be assigned to what you are trying to apply those styles to. See CSSfor some basic info and resources on CSS.

    the exact style depends on the used theme;

    for example, in the default theme Twenty Eleven this might be .entry-content li { }

    you can use a tool such as Firebug http://getfirebug.com/ to find these css selectors;

    or post link to your site pointing to the post/page with the bullet problem.

    Thanks threesongbirds and WPyogi. I am hosting externally. It's unlikely to be an error on the page. I'll try validating the site but most likely my tecchie friend will sort it once he comes free (not very often!). The page in question FYI is http://www.newrivermarketing.co.uk/downloads
    Thanks again. RF

    So are you talking about the lists in the sidebar? There are no bullet points or lists in the content section...on the page you linked to. But I looked at the other download pages -- so I'm guessing you mean the one on Impact of Social Media?
