I was having serious issues with the WordPress’s (2.6.2) built-in Visual Editor , because in IE7 the Visual Editor won’t work. I got no response from my inquiries at the WordPress forum on this subject, and my search revealed MANY people had the issue with no real solution. SO, after further searching I discovered the FCKeditor, to replace TinyMCE. It’s exactly the “fix” I needed, with one small exception…

How do I permanently disable “Use the visual editor when writing” in the WordPress profile? So that when I create a New User, this isn’t checked by default. Because when it’s checked, the FCKeditor doesn’t appear… I have to uncheck “Use the visual editor when writing” to get the FCKeditor to appear. While I’m willing to manually do this so that I can use the FCKeditor, I’d love a solution to automatically UNcheck that option in the Profile.

“Thank you” in advance for whatever you can do!
