    How do I Order Gallery by Random?

    This is the code that puts the gallery in my post:

    <img class="ngg_displayed_gallery mceItem random" alt="" src="http://scottsdalemeetup.com/nextgen-attach_to_post/preview/id--400" />

    tried this and it didn't work:

    [ngg_images gallery_ids="1" display_type="photocrati-nextgen_basic_thumbnails" order_by="random" number_of_columns="3"]

    @brian and @Aleph22 - The current version of NextGEN Gallery does not offer an order_by parameter for the Basic Thumbnails display; and, unfortunately the "Custom" sort method (think drag and drop) in the ATP does not consistently work at this time.

    The former is a great Feature Request idea and I will be making note of it while the latter is something we are currently looking to sort out.

    Thanks for the idea!

    Try using order_by='rand()':

    [ngg_images gallery_ids="1" display_type="photocrati-nextgen_basic_thumbnails" order_by="rand()" number_of_columns="3"]

    Yes ... thanks, Ben!

    I've made a note for this and if no one minds will mark this thread as resolved, too.
