    Hello,

I am new to wordpress but have years of experience with Linux, Servers, Joomla, etc.

I have a site which is at http://domain.com/blog

I want to move the entire site to http://domain.com

In the WordPress >Admin the WordPress location is
    http://domain.com/blog

and the Site URL is http://domain.com/blog

The only thing on this domain is the wordpress site.

    My questions are:

1.) Is moving the entire wordpress site to http://domain.com as simple as changing the Site URL address setting in the admin to http://domain.com , and I don't have to change any file locations?

2.) Does a config_file.php have to be modified, also?

3.) Is there a handy way to make an image backup of the entire wordpress site ( i.e. a module that does restorable backups that is recommended).

I really appreciate your help for this - am helping a friend with her site.

    Thanks,

    Eddie

You would either need to move all the files per:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress

Or an alternate is to leave most files, but run from root
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory

Don't just change the URL without understanding what's going on
    http://vudu.me/url
    May help as well
