    Painfully.

I’m sorry to say that it’s not easy, unless you wanted to convert that single WP site into a Multiste as it stands now.

You can activate the multisite functions on your single site, but importing users separately from that is a pain :/

I want to transfer the WP site and add it to the multisite. But how am I going to transfer the members from the WP site to the main site(multisite), so when a member logs in, the member will have automated access.
example: the member will be able to make a comment to all sites. Also any new members that register would have access to all of the sites with only one account.

Somewhat easy, you will need to export from your stand-alone site and import into a new site on the multisite network.

But how am I going to transfer the members from the WP site to the main site(multisite), so when a member logs in, the member will have automated access.

    Not easy.

If they’ve written posts, you can pull them over at the time of import, but if they’d just commented, then you can either add them manually and tell them to reset passwords.

http://www.sitepoint.com/migrating-your-current-wordpress-blog-to-a-wordpress-multisite-blog/ has some notes, but again, not easy.

Also any new members that register would have access to all of the sites with only one account.

    That’s easy. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/multisite-user-management/

What you said is very informative!! I have 2 last question before I take the big step of imigration.

    1) Where do I have to go in the multisite to change the upload file “wp-content/uploads” to “images” and without organising them to yearly/monthly
folders for all the sites that I will create from now on?

    2) The attached files from the single site are on “wp-content/uploads” and they are organised in yearly/monthly
folders. When finish question 1, and have imported the single site, will there be any problem or not? If it is, what do I have to do to change all the photos of the single in order to see the new upload file?

    1) Can’t set it for all sites. it’s a per-site settings.

    Why do you want to?

I just wanted to save some time, at least where do I have to go in every site to put these settings that I asked?

Sorry, I asked the wrong way.

Why do you want to change the default option at all? (Sometimes understanding why will help us come up with the right answer for you πŸ™‚ We like giving personal attention.)

    (@b_dark)

I want to change the default option, to create shorter URL’s and a better SEO for images

    The default option
    http://mysite.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/this-is-my-home-photo-01.jpg

And what I want to do
    http://mysite.com/images/this-is-my-home-photo-01.jpg

My question is, if do this to all of my sites and the image google bot goes to the file images, will it dounle index all the photos in every URL of the site? Or it will index based what photo is used in every post in every one of the sites?
I hope what I said makes some sense. πŸ˜›

Can you tell me where am going to uncheck the file creation yearly/monthly?

    (@b_dark)

i found “Uploads Use Yearmonth Folders” i set 0

    Don’t.

    1) It doesn’t impact SEO
    2) It’s more trouble than it’s worth
    3) It can cause MASSIVE issues if you have a lot of images.

Yes, you can do it the way you described, but please don’t. You will regret this.

    (@b_dark)

    Why will i regret it?

Also, according to that post, it’s a necessity to move the imagesfrom single wp site(wp-content/uploads/year/month/)to wp multisite(wp-content/blogs.dir/numer-os-site/files/ automaping in public to this files/year/month/).

So, can I change public url of main multisite (wp-content/uploads/) and subsites(files/) to “images/”?

BTW what sql command I have use to replace the folders? I used that sql command from that post and it didn’t worked :/

I wrote that post and if you bother to read it, I said this:

Also, I can’t stress this enough, you don’t have to do this! Your images will be just fine where they are, but if you want to move them, you can. Enough people have asked on the WordPress.org support forums that I bothered to consolidate my notes on this, however.

And? I was moving files to blogs.dir, that’s it. I did not stop using the year/month folders.

Leave the images alone. There’s no reason to move them, and you will cause problems with other plugins, themes, and possibly your server.

    Thread Starter Be Dark

    (@b_dark)

Ok, I won’t do it. I tried to move the site based on that link

but my file was too big, an so splited it and for some weird reason it added to me more posts. Because they were too many I was bored to search for the source and so I did something simpler. I deleted the whole base of the third site, and I kept only the table _option, I changed the prefix, the bases of single site and added them in the base of the multisite. Everything works fines ecxcept from the fact that it didn’t move all of the subscribers. It added from wordpress importer only the authors. How can I move all the subscribers? They around to 1.500+ subscribers.

    Subscribers…

Probably the easiest would be to use http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-import-users/
