• Hi, I am in the middle of putting together a wedding blog for a friend & need some help.

We’re waiting for the logo artwork to come back, the layout is almost there & ready for my friend to start uploading content.

However, I need a hand with the search box. First of all I had a problem with a huge gap between the bottom of the header & the top of the menu. I’ve sorted that, but now my search box has been moved down closer to the 1st sidebar widget.

How can I move this search box up a few pixels so that it is in line with the main navigation menu? The rest of the layout looks fine but this search box is really bugging me.

The blog I’m working on is at http://gwensbridalbazaar.com

Thanks in advance, I’d appreciate any comments.

How familiar are you with CSS?

Familiar enough to make basic changes.

I’ve made quite a few tweaks to the code in order to reposition the menu, add an image map, etc.

If you know where in the CSS I can make the change I should know what to do 🙂

Whereabouts are you making CSS changes?

In the “style.css” file on Twenty Twelve.

Once the layout is finished I’ll create a child theme to stop any theme upgrades overwriting the changes I’ve made (a few people have said not to amend the standard theme without a child theme).

    I have also changed the header.php & footer.php files.
