How do I make plugin appear on specific page?

I’m writing a plugin that will need to appear on a specific page. I came across how to do this a while back, where you would enter something like:

[contact-form 1 "Contact Form"]

into the page/post text field and it would replace that with the necessary code from the plugin, but can’t remember what the function is called.

Can someone point me in the right direction?
