Hello all
I have a website (www.simonmas.com) and 3 sub websites (/music , /articles and /photography ).
I would like to know how I can put, on the home page, a link (maybe with a picture appearing in the slider) to every article that is published in the sub-sites. I don't want the articles to be in the home page blog. I simply want them to appear like they are. when the user clicks on the title, he gets to the sub-site. Of course, the articles, pages, and whatnot published on the home page should appear, too.
My best guess is that I would need some kind of plug in... but I cannot find any. Maybe I am searching wrong?
It would be also be neat to be able to list the tags from the articles and the music section... obviously along to those of the home page.
What could you suggest?
PS: some background, if you need it.
I have recently revamped the website and I have decided to have the sub-sites because I think it's neater that way:
1. If I manage to make the home page a portal, then I can decide to place adverts on some sub-sites (specifically the photography and the article ones) but not on others.
2. I can also make clear what my profession is by selecting which sections or articles will be featured on the home page, and which are "exclusive" of the sub-sites.
I still have technical work to do (for example, I have to find a way to put the links to the subsection in the header, not on the right hand side of the footer...), but i think the idea might work.
Someone has told me that I could do a much better website by not using the tags on the photographs (those are the hobby, really... they are there, like the articles, to bring random viewers to the website. Let's face it: with all the musicians that are out there, who would stumble upon my music?!?).
Maybe that is true, and maybe there is a much simpler and elegant way to achieve my goals, but I am far from being a designer or a wordpress guru and I wouldn't know where to start anyway.
Any suggestion is extremely welcomed!
