How do I make a linked list on a separate page? (6 posts)

Hello every one and thank you in advance for any help or advice as I am a very new user to wordpress.
Essentially I would like to create a page separate from my main blog that has a list of links as the page contents in alphabetized order. Each link would expand with more information and photos of that particular subject. I was thinking that I could just have two blog pages and use one of the blogs to do this. I see wordpress doesn’t really allow this though and now I am thinking that there is probably a better way to do this anyway?
In my head it would look something like the below:
    Main Category A-
    Sub link a
    Sub link b
    Sub link c
    Main Category B-
    Sub link a
    Sub link b
    Sub link c
Hopefully it would be easy to add to as well.
    Any helps is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Erin

    Hi MichaelH,

Thank you for the suggestion. I have been playing around with the recommended plugin. Can you create hidden pages/sub pages that would only be accessed through the site map?

Its not completely intuitive to me how I would use a site map to do exactly what I want but this may be due to my lack of experience with word press.

Basically I want to do the same thing as this:
    http://www.zanthan.com/gardens/plants/

For what ever reason the link is not working right now, hopefully its a minor glitch and will come back online but the cached version is here:

Doesn’t quite look the same but I think it gets to what I am trying to do.

Ok I think I am starting to figure it out..

It seems that I need to create sub pages and then create a site map of all the sub pages?

Any feedback of if I am on the right track would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Can someone comment how to set this up?

    Thanks,
