    I am in the process of creating a search plugin that display results from another search engine like google onto wordpress search result page.

    what function should I use to fetch these results and display them on wordpress?

    You could easily just use google custom search. I am not sure that you can return google search results, but you can return anything with a feed. You’ll want to cache the results though or it will eat up server resources.
