I like the way the Painter theme looked for my site and installed it. However, the picture for Painter shows a detailed, swirling background in different shades of blue for the header. On the installed version, it is just all one solid coler of blue. How do i get my Header background to look like the Painter theme in the picture?
have you checked if the background image is in your theme files or folders?
do other background images show on your site?
link to the theme download and demo?
a link to your site might get you more useful replies.

Here is the link to my website, where the background is just a solid blue:

The Painter theme looks like this in their picture (2/3rds of the way down the page):

looks like you sorted it by changing themes ?
if so, please mark this thread as 'resolved'

no, it did not get fixed. My theme is plain blue, the advertised theme is much more elaborate. Is the more elaborate color scheme not something that is automatically avaliable for this theme?

I see what you're saying, i did have to change the entire them from Painter to a different theme. Still would like to know how to get the elaborate Painter background.
i looked at your site, and it had a patterned blue top background; and it also was not the 'painter' theme.
so i assumed that you settled for a different theme :-(
i also checked the painter theme download and demo from http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/painter and there is no background image in the whole folder.
there is simply no elaborate background image with the download.
