How do I get rid of smutty links?

    I’ve been getting all this spam in comments and now I noticed I have some icky exernal links. How do I get rid of them?

    I’m sure the solution is stupidly simple, but I’m afraid I don’t know it.

    Use the askimet plugin. Also in settings, discussion, use the comment moderation and/or blacklist to keep certain words from showing up.

    Yes, the solution, as I see it, is to delete any previous spam comments you may have approved.

    We all get spammy comments, all the time, even if we run Akismet, as this is the nature of the web. They’re not good for your SEO (even with links removed) and of dubious value to readers of your content (as they do nothing but give the *appearance* of a conversation), so I say trash ’em!
