   Can someone tell me how I can exclude certain categories from appearing on my blog page? (I've assigned a page different from the front page to be my blog page)

   I know I can hack this and it must be one or 2 lines of code to edit

   But: I wanted a plugin so that I could keep it clean

   I've tried searching for 'exclude plugin', but don't get any results that help
   Simply Exclude plugin looks promising, but doesn't work
   (Not sure if this is because my blog page is not the front page)

   I'm a bit lost :(

   You;d need to create a custom query in your theme's index.php template file.

   i thought i'd ask first - i was sure there'd be a plugin already written that would do the same thing

   i'll do as u suggest
