I the wordpress installation with fantastico, which was successful, but when I go to my website I dont see wordpress, just the old site that I made with sitestudio. • Erase your history in your browser! Then try again.

Some hosts have higher hierarchy for index.html than index.php which is WordPress. So go to WP installation by http://www.example.com/index.php and when you’re ready for official launch, delete old HTML website done with sitestudio.

Ok, now I can see the wordpress site there. So how do I delete the old file then? I know how to get into the file manager, but am unsure of which files to delete. Thanks

Using FTP or your panel’s web shell, download copy of your HTML files and folders to computer and then delete said HTML files and folders online.

Im not sure how to download my html files and folders. Does any one know how to do that in hostgator cPanel X?

I have hostgator, so just go into the File manager and simply look for your old files. (You should know what they are) Pretty Straight forward
