I am using wordpress as a type of cms (planning to have nearly a thousand pages... all with different content) ...
However I would like to be able to change text across multiple pages at once is this possible?
eg. page 1 change a typo
page 2 and page 3 changes as well
or
create a paragraph or code and choose which pages to place the new code or replace existing content...

You can only edit one page at a time. You can delete pages, but not edit them. You can perform a "quick edit" on several pages at once, but not edit the content.
One thing you could look into is custom page templates. You can have certain pages have different layouts, add links at the bottom, etc. You still can't edit the actual content, though.
