how do I display posts with images in the category pages

    When i do a post with an image (and most of my posts will have images because I am displaying my art) it shows the images on the main page of my blog site, but when I look at the post in the category, all it shows is an abbreviated version of the post without the image, so the question is, how do I get the image to display?
