how do I display just the title and a few sentences from a blog post (3 posts)

I want the kind of page where the title and a few sentences appear (like an abstract), with the entire article appearing once the reader clicks on the title. It means I'll have four or five titles and 3-4 sentences of each article under each title, one underneath the other, with the reader opening the full article by clicking each title. Is that a special theme? A widget? A plug-in? Or is there some formatting skill I need?

    Thanks, you're very helpful,

You'll need to replace the_content() with the_excerpt() on the relevant template files.

The above should be done in a child theme so that your changes are not overwritten when the theme is updated.
