I'm not sure what do you call the rectangle where posts and page contents are displayed,

but how do you have a second rectangle, placed below the first.

    Something like this

    ----------------------------
    Header
    ----------------------------
    Menu
    ----------------------------

    -----------------------------------------------
    Post/Page area
    -----------------------------------------------

    -----------------------------------------------
    Second area
    -----------------------------------------------

    footer

Do you want a seperate posts loop in the second area? that can be done.
Here I show 2 post loops, each showing posts for a different category (category 3 and 4).

I'm using "post rows' but you can have the multiple post loops without that.

    demo

there's a link to the code I use, also css provided:)

Hello. Thanks so much for responding, but I don't think that's what I am looking for.

To clarify my question: I want to insert a box (where I can insert widget, add text etc) between the menu bar and the box which contains my page contents.

So you want to add another widget area to your theme. First of all, you register another widget area in functions.php using register_sidebar. Then you use dynamic_sidebar(name) where you want the new area to appear.

If you're using that plugin, you'll probably have to ask on it's forum. Otherwise you could try to find it's css and increase the margins on the boxes.
