How do I create a config file? (2 posts)

I am new to WordPress, buddypress and blogging. I'd like to set up a club site private to members with a few pages public. I've installed BP and the BP Private community plugins. I know I need to modify the defaults to enable public access to widgets, rss and the public pages. I've seen the FAQ about it his, but my threshold question is: what is a config file and how do I access it or set it up? I use dream host and did a quick install when I first set up WordPress. I can follow directions pretty well but have no real coding experience.

    Hi

If you do not use a code editor then you can Just create a plain text document containing the information you would like for your config file.

Ftp the config.txt file to your server and then rename it to config.php.

    Hope this helps.
