I just opened filezilla and copied the whole kit-and-kaboodle from my website to my local machine. I just wanted to see if I could bring my blog from the WWW to my pc to learn how and practice backing up / reestablishing my blog if something ever goes wrong down the road.

So, I copied the whole thing over and the error I get when I command:

    http://localhost/mywholeWPfolder/index.php

is a resounding 72pt font: Error establishing a database connection

    My questions are these:
Did I copy my db over to my pc when I copied the whole folder over?
Where is my db or db file? I don't know what I'm even looking for.
How to I point WP to my db and have my localhost serve my blog on my pc?

    my blog is at http://www.mawdizzle.com

My goal is to serve it on my localhost the same way you would see it if you were on the internet.

Am I in the ballpark? or am I hundreds of miles away from being able to do this?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you very much,
    Matt
