How do I collapse posts only on the archives and categories lists (3 posts)

    Sorry I am new to wordpress and haven't been able to find an answer on how to collapse posts that are returned when you choose a category or archive. I've found out how to collapse a post but I want my posts to be expanded on my main page, just not when someone tries to get a list of posts for a certain category. Here is a site with an example of what I'm looking for:

    make sure your theme has an archive.php template file, and in this file, use 'the_excerpt()' instead of 'the_content()'

    if you want a thumbnail image beside the excerpt - also look into post thumbnails:
