How do I change the text in my banner? (8 posts)

    Hello,
I'm having a problem with the most basic thing on my site: http://JackGrabon.com - I don't know where to go to change the text that's showing up in the banner. When I do inspect element in chrome, it tells me what tags surround it or what template it might be in, but I can't where it is on the back end to update. I've looked through many pages in the editor, including the stylesheet. Where is this?

    Thanks,
    Jack

    Hey Jack,

What theme are you using? This should be handled in the theme options under "styling" "color" or some similarly labeled menu.

Your theme options will be under either Appearance>theme option or will have a menu item of it's own at the bottom of the control panel sidebar. Odds are it will say something along the lines of "accent color" and won't change just the text color but the trim and possible a few other things as well.

Someone installed a custom theme for me, so it gives my name as the theme. The template is one that was brought into WP & made responsive. I looked at those options and don't see anything like that.

I know that this is somewhere in the code, as I tweaked the HTML before I brought my site into wordpress. Any other ideas?

We don't know how your theme was made, it would be best to ask this to the person who installed that theme for you.

if you refer to the top 'banner', then any text is contained in this image:

you will need to use an image editor which can deal with .png files with transparency, for example the free GIMP ...

The images I'm referring to are the rotating banner, not my logo. While it consists of the image, the text (e.g. are you happy?) isn't part of the image itself.

it is virtually impossible to help with a custom theme as the forum members obviously don't have free access to the files.

possibly chaeck the image caption, description, or alt texts...

search all files of your theme for the code of the slider (rotating banners); there is possibly a function call or some code in the page template home_rhc_page.php which might give you some clues ...
