Yes. That only works with other themes. It’s not working with Catch Box theme that I’m currently using. See the screenshot of the output when I followed that guide:
http://poprama.net/~/troubleshoot-1314.png
As you can see, it worked for other pages except anyone that I use as the front page. The “Home” title stays there, while another title (the one I wanted it to be) appears beneath, making things uglier.
Also, (attn theme author), I can’t even disable the front page slider even though I checked the option to disable it — it doesn’t seem to work on a static front page.
Thanks so far. More help would be deeply appreciated.
Given the note in the Codex about some themes being set up differently and that it won’t work, sounds like Catch Box may be one of those. But Sakin does monitor these forums, so he’ll likely step in here. You could also see if there’s any info or whether you can ask on his theme site here:

I’ll contact him now. Thank you for your assistance.
@celloblue: Best option is to create custom menu. http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/ and then you can change the label of the menu.
Thanks for the response!
But how can the menu replace the top bar list of pages?
I thought the custom menu can only work as a sidebar or footer widget?
Please teach me how to use it to replace top bar list, including correctly renaming the homepage so that it doesn’t have a double title. Thanks for your assistance. 🙂
Never mind, hold on I’m currently trying out your tip.
Man, it works like charm! Thanks. God bless Ameri- the world!
One more thing,
If I’m to have different widgets on the homepage, that is, a particular widget I’d like to have on the homepage but not on all other pages of the blog, how do I achieve that? Thanks in advance.
@celloblue: For this you need to register widget and then customize sidebar.php . For this we need to have detail knowledge about the sidebar widgets code. If you want the easy option then you can upgrade to “Catch Box Pro” Theme
Thanks, Sakin. We might consider making some donations to your programming in the future!
However, right now we’ve got some developers that turn your great theme into a custom platform to include virtually any features we request.
Regardless, keep up the good work, keep innovating. I wish more people like you are on the web.
Again, we might consider donating to support your hard work in the future. Maybe even premium-commercially sponsor you!
To other publishers reading this, I recommend you to get Sakin’s premium theme. It has many more features and will save you headache of going through codes or pouring off unwarranted dollars to hire developers whom you’ll have to watch closely to make sure they’re trustworthy.
Best wishes!
@celloblue: Thanks a lot for your appreciation. Post me on if you need any support on our support forum http://catchthemes.com/support-forum/
