    hi all. i had a web designer create my website using word press...and i am having trouble making changes to the text in it.
    right now,, all i need to know is how to change the font color? i have no idea who to use html...which is why i had my site created in word press, because you can use the "visual" page to type the body of the pages. but when i made a change to a line, somehow the text that was once black, took on the color of the line above that and its now purple!!

    pls help me!! here is a link to my site...you see what i am talking about.. http://www.doggydecorumca.com/?page_id=32....if you go to any of the other pages...you'll see how its supposed to look. heading is purple, then the body is black.

    thx

    First of all, I notice there is an error when your site loads. There could be more than one problem, but the first thing I notice is that there is an extra quotation mark in this line:
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all" href="http://www.doggydecorumca.com/wp-content/themes/twentyten/style.css"" />
    There should only be one quotation mark after style.css. You may have to contact your web designer to get that fixed, because I don't know how he/she set things up, and therefore don't know where to tell you to look.

    As for the font color, if you're talking about the words "Behavior Modification" on that page, you can log in to the admin side of WordPress, then go Appearance -> Editor and click on the style.css link in the right column at or near the bottom to edit the file. Scroll down to line 192 where you should find a section that looks like this:

    .headings {
        color: #A01E78;
        font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;
        font-size: 16px;
        text-decoration: none;
    }

    That "color: #A01E78;" is setting the color of the font for your headings. The "#A01E78" is the hexadecimal code for that purple color. You don't say what color you want for the headings. If you just commment out that line, it will make the headings black. To comment it out, you'd make it look like this:

    .headings {
        /*color: #A01E78;*/
        font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;
        font-size: 16px;
        text-decoration: none;
    }

    After you make your changes, click the "Update File" button at the bottom to save them.

    If you want some other color than black, you'd need to put the color you want in there, either in hexadecimal form or using one of the CSS color terms. You can read more about the CSS color property here.

    @linux4me2

    thanks for the info....i was trying to make my text black. it turned purple by accident when i made a grammar change to a line in the text body.

    so all i have to do is this: /*color: #A01E78;*/ to make the text black?

    as for the other issues with my website...i have no problem opening my website. what happens when you opened it? and what does that extra quotation mark do??

    i do know that the FB and IN icons aren't linked to those sites yet. don't know how to do that either....any suggestions?

    thanks so much for helping me!!!

    andrea~
