• By default WordPress only pings one place. I’ve got a list of places that I’d like to ping.

I know how to go through the options and change it, but in the interest of saving time for any new installs I’d like to just place my list in the options so it’s there when I first upload WordPress.

I’d also like to change the default links in the blogroll.

What files are these located in?

  • Under Options > Writing, see Update Services. Also read: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/35210

As for links, look under Links > Manage Links

No, no, no. I don’t want to have to login to change this. I want the stuff to be there when I initially upload wordpress by default. Meaning that when I log into the admin area for the first time, this stuff is already done.

I can change it in the control panel fine, but I’m trying to skip that step.

I imagine that the info has to be stored in one of the config files so that I can edit that.

I’m adding wordpress to a lot of sites of mine. It’d be a major time saver to be able to have many of my default options already set for me.

You will have to dissect the part of the install that populates the database with the default data.

Mkay, what part of the install is that? What file?

    It’s all inside ‘install.php’
