Hi there. I am using one of the basic word press themes. There are a few things that I would like to change on the theme to further personalize my site but I dont know how to do it. For example, I would like to take the "posts" off of the home page and make it static. I'd like to move that "posts" thing to my "blog" page. Also, I'd like to get rid of the sub-page drop down menus and have the viewer go to the certain page to access the subpage. There are a few other things too...like font, etc. that I'd like to change.

    Follow this guide:

You'll have to edit the appropriate theme template at Appearance/Editor in your admin panel.
