How do I alphabetize the listed categories?

As my site grows, I add new categories. How do I get the categories listed in alphabetic order?

Thanks for your help and please accept my apology if this has been answered somewhere else. I searched the forum and saw a question about alphabetizing post, but I would like to know how to alphabatize the list of categories.
