How do I add customized HTML code in Navbox

    Hi,

    I would like to add some HTML code in the Navigation box area. It is a customized search box written in HTML that pulls research results from an external database ( non-wordpress site).

    Which file should I modify? I have set up a child theme and also created function.php in the child theme folder.
