Hi there.... I can not work out how a user can upload or offsite link to avatar images for there wordpress account so the image shows up when they comment.

I have it enabled.. and when they post I currently have the selected "default" avatar option.... but I can see no way to upload avatars.. there isno upload or offsite linking options in the user control pannel.

I do not wish to use gravatars as only a tiny portion of readers will bother to register on the gravatar site and go though all that pain... is there a way for users to upload there own avatars in the same manner that popular forum software uses like SMF, or PHPbb3 ... as in a sinple "upload avatar" or "link to offsite avatar" option?

    Thanks in advance.

    That plugin from

has given me no end of trouble because I cannot activate it. All it does is print the Urls of the avatars on my computer instead of uploading it. There is no support, the writer wants to be paid to help sort out the mess I already paid for but doesn't work.
