[resolved] How do I add an image? (16 posts)

    I'd like to add a quotation mark image to the front of each testimony. I had entered testimonies in manually using some shortcode then I added a line underneath each testimony. I still have the shortcode I had entered in manually on the bottom of my testimonials page after the testimonials shortcode from this plugin. I'm wanting the testimony's at the top (from this plugin) to look like the ones at the bottom. So, how do I do that with css? Anyone mind helping me? Thanks!

    First off, see FAQ 70 about your page being an archive than the page you think it is. The page link you gave isn't using the [testimonialswidget_list] shortcode.

    For the URL given, where exactly do you want the quotation mark?

    Are you still having trouble?

    Has looking through the knowledge base helped?

    I didn't get a response that day so I just created a new page to display the testimony's the way that I typed them in (no shortcode). That is this page: http://www.wealthmanagementuniversity.com/testimony
    The page with the testimonials shortcode on it is http://www.wealthmanagementuniversity.com/testimonials - and is displaying the testimonials very weird and bloglike now. Funny thing is that I cannot find this page anymore in WordPress in order to even edit it. You said something about it being an archived page but I cannot find it anywhere under pages or elsewhere... Can you shed any light on where it is?

    Audrea,

    You've got a few things going on.

    First, your testimonials URL is the default testimonials archive link before it was updated to be testimonials-archive since many people had a simple page called "Testimonials"

    Next, if you want to use shortcode to display than the default archive view, change the archive URL per below and then create a page called Testimonials with the desired shortcode.

    Ok, I didn't realize what I had done. It's all fixed now so I can revert back to my original question above. I just don't like leaving the page like it is for people to see so I'll keep it up until you respond...

    Again, the first portion of the page is what I have typed in manually and not from your plugin, using lines and quotes, etc. I re-added the plugin shortcode below my entered quotes to show you the difference. I'd like to get the plugin setup properly so that I can add a quotation mark like mine above as well as the fonts and left justification of the persons name, etc. and possibly adding the lines in between each. How do I go about doing that? Can you point me in the right direction maybe on your FAQ's. I just didn't ever see a question similar. Thanks for all your help! I plan to purchase the premium version if it all works out.

    Sorry, the quotations are there... just need to know how to left justify, change font size and add the lines between each testimony...

    I'm looking at page http://www.wealthmanagementuniversity.com/testimony/, but this seems to be your static HTML.

    What page specifically has the shortcode on it?

    That link doesn't exist anymore. The new link is the one I posted above in the post before my last one...

    Thanks!

    http://www.wealthmanagementuniversity.com/testimonials
    and
    http://www.wealthmanagementuniversity.com/testimonials-archive

    are effectively the same pages. I don't think you've reset your permalink architecture per the link to do underneath the testimonials archive url setting.

    Can you please do so?

    If you add the following CSS to the bottom of your theme's style.css file you should be fine.

    .testimonials-widget-testimonial cite, .testimonials-widget-testimonial div.credit {
    font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",Times,serif;
    font-size: 16px;
    font-style: italic;
    font-weight: bold;
    line-height: 24px;
    text-align: left;
    }

    .testimonials-widget-testimonial .join {
    display: none;
    }

    .testimonials-widget-testimonial .company {
    display: block;
    }

    I would deeply appreciate your donating towards my time to handle your styling request. Thank you.

    Great! Thanks. And how do I add a divider after each testimony? I tried using "testimonials-widget-testimonial list" but it didn't work... And my pagination is running into the testimony's. I tried editing spacing in Firebug but nothing I tried worked...

    For paging spacing…

    .testimonials-widget-testimonials.listing .paging.prepend {
    	margin-bottom: 1em;
    }

    For divider…

    .testimonials-widget.type-testimonials-widget.testimonials-widget-testimonial.list {
    	background: transparent url(/wp-content/themes/u-design/styles/style1/images/heading_underline.png) repeat-x scroll 0 100%;
    	padding-bottom: 1em;
    }
