How do I add a Twitter 'share a link' button at the bottom of every post? (5 posts)

First off, I'm not a coder so please be concise if you can because I won't be able to figure it out if it's technical.

I'm using Wpengine with the ThemeMin theme. http://resetrewind.com/

I know I'm supposed to generate the code here but where do I put the code?
    https://twitter.com/about/resources/buttons#tweet

I want what The Bloggess site has: http://thebloggess.com/
A tweet button for each post, placed at the bottom.

I've tried the TweetMeme widget but it was place at the top and messed up the post formatting so that didn't work. If there's a widget that works that you know of, let me know.

    Thanks in advance.
    Gio

    Hi gsasso,

First of all, great choice on WPEngine. I love those guys.

Second, The Bloggess is using this plugin on their site: http://techxt.com/tweet-like-google-1-and-share-plugin-wordpress/ (to see this for yourself, right click in browser, view source code, search for "Tweet")

That being said, there are a handful of decent plugins that accomplish this, eg, http://wordpress.org/plugins/social-sharing-toolkit/ and http://wordpress.org/plugins/really-simple-facebook-twitter-share-buttons/ and many others.... you may have to edit some CSS. If you do, try right clicking in the browser on your website in either Chrome or Mozilla. The Web Development tools of either will let you zero in on the class/id you need to change.

One more thing: some of these scripts can slow your website down a fair amount.... I can't recall who wrote it, but I remember seeing a very talented and well known developer put out a plugin to disable a lot of the api calls on these things.... I don't recall who it was or what the plug in name was. WP Engine is fast and you may not have any trouble... but if you start seeing your website slowing down, maybe look into that. Best of luck!

Great! Thank-you for the speedy response. I decided to use the same one as The Bloggess and it works just as I wanted. http://techxt.com/tweet-like-google-1-and-share-plugin-wordpress/

    Thanks,
