I have a "information website", which basically needed to be sorted into several different sections in terms of "article type". The format of the site is a simple 3 column layout - how hard would this be to integrate with Word Press?
Thanks,
Andrew.

could you post your site and let us see?
categories are part of wordpress.
And a three-column template can be utilized. There are several pre-made, or you could integrate WordPress into your existing design (takes time and patience). But a link to your site first would be nice. It's easier to see what you're looking for, when we can actually see what you're looking for.

Thanks for the replies - heres the link:

Prety self explanatory how it needs to look like :) Left side of the bar , the "category listing", and if possible a little "Welcome message" i could change daily..in the middle section the content, and right is a static ad.
That's easy. Here are some pre-made WordPress 3 column templates if you want to get started with those:

Or, if you want to integrate WP into your own design, setup and install WordPress first, by following the installation instructions.

And then, insert "The Loop" into your own design.

These resources will also come in handy if you choose to integrate WP into your own design (specifically Template Tags and CSS selectors):
