[resolved] how could i put background image in css??? (4 posts)

    i am using theme easy white, i found the css style was bit cofuse to use, it has a section says

    input {
    background-color:#E9E9E9;
    border: 1px solid #CCCCCC;
    font-size: 11px;
    ......
    so i followed to pur { background-image: url("http://s69.photobucket.com/albums/i73/sevenbluesweet/?action=view&current=dots.jpg"); }

    but it wasnt work????? so sum one please help me!!!
    bty, i am not sure if thats the right way to do it????? help!!!!!

    I just wonder whether a php function will run in that situation.

    First of all, that link for the background isn't an *image*, it's a *page*. You can't set a web page as a background image. (Go ahead - look for yourself - copy that link and paste it in to your address bar and it takes you to a page on the PhotoBucket site.)

    I would guess the very reason it does this is because PhotoBucket prevents hotlinking of images from their site (as they well should - since hotlinking is pretty much stealing.)

    I don't know if this is *your* image, or if it's one you just found on the site that you like - but if it's *your* image, you need to link to the actual image file, not the page that the image resides in.

    But to answer your question, you have the format correct - your path to the image file is what's incorrect.

    thanks doodlebee!!! i found the problem now. is really the wrong url for the image! thanks so much for hte help!
