    Hello & thanks for considering my question.

    I am trying to make the pages on my navigation menu centered rather than oriented to the left.

    Here is my site: http://www.lovebirdbook.com

    I have done a bit of research already. I tried going into my style css sheet and typing " text-align: center" in the places that seemed appropriate, but this was to no avail. Perhaps I put it in the wrong place in the code?

    Or maybe there is a different way?

    Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

    Thanks.

    Centring nav menus has been asked and answered many times before;

    Try using a browser developer tool for this kind of exploratory CSS work. You can expose↓ styles that are applying to elements in your webpage.
    I use Google Chrome's built-in Developer Tool because I find it particularly easy to use.

    Alternatively, ask general CSS forums;
    http://csscreator.com/forum
    http://www.cssforum.com.pk/
    http://css-tricks.com/forums/
    http://www.welovecss.com/
    http://www.codingforums.com/

    Now that you know the style, from being →exposed by the Developer Tool/ recommended by the CSS forum, you can add↓ a new style to override it.

    You ought to →add new styles externally↓, not within the theme's files. Changes to the theme's files will compromise the theme and be compromised when the theme updates.

    External changes can be made using a Child Theme or through a plugin that provides Custom CSS functionality.

    Thanks, Andrew.

    I just want to clarify: the navigation menu itself is centered, it's just the individual items within the navigation menu that I would also like to be centered.

    I will try Google Chrome's Built-In Developer Tool and see if I can resolve this.

    Hi Natalie,

    I'm having the same issue, trying to center the navigation. I see that you solved the issue by nesting a new div element with a custom class within the nav element, but where did you make that change? I assumed it was in one of the .php files, but which one? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Michael
