Hi, yesterday I changed the settings on my blog to only allow a user to post when registered, today I discovered akismet has found 5 new spam and I have no new resistered users.
How can this happen?
Also alot of the spam I get at the moment, includes the title of the article and looks like this
[...]Huawei To Release New Android Smartphone And Tablet – Pre pay as you go Blog[...]… Why would a spammer think this would be approved.

That's because trackbacks and pings don't use the comment forms so they don't need to be logged in to leave them.
Comments that show up like that are due to references on other sites to your post. Try the Check for Spam button again, sometimes Akismet gets the spam on another later pass.
