   ...I've successfully moved hosts. I was having a lot of problems, but edited the wp-config file enough to be alright.

   But now I want to know how can I be sure I've moved over before I cancel the previous account...

   What I mean is, my old hosting account still exists, so how can I be sure it's not just running from there?

   change the name of index.php on the old site :P

   The simplest and smartest thing to do is to wait about 3 days though before killing the old account -- thats about how long total dns propogation takes. What you see may not be what I see, you see :)
