    Email alerts for what? What does the email alert say?

    it says ‘bps security log’ in the subject
    and is like an activity log,
    but i don’t understand it.

    does it only send if something is not set up right?

    The Security Log: Email/Delete Security Log File When… option allows you to choose either: Email Log File & Then Delete Log File or Delete Log File when it reaches the file size setting that you have chosen.

    Security Log File Size
    Displays the size of your Security Log file. 500KB is the optimum recommended log file size setting that you should choose for your log file to be automatically zipped, emailed and replaced with a new blank Security Log file.

    This is a BPS self maintaining automated process so that your Security Log file does not become too large, which would cause problems and so that you do not have to do anything manually. You can also choose to Turn Off Logging.

    Our sites get somewhere between 400,000 to 500,000 security log entries (blocked hackers, spammers, miners, bad bots, etc etc etc) per month and we scan those zipped Security Log files for any new hacking/spamming etc methods. This is not necessary for the average person to do so you can choose not to keep security logging on or choose to have the Security Log file automatically deleted and replaced with a new Log file if you do not want zipped Security Log files emailed to you.

    I think so thanks.
    I actually auto deleted from my email account instead
    Because I couldn’t see any settings to change in BP

    I am also experiencing troubles with unwanted Mails sent.

    I have checked DO NOT SEND EMAIL ALERTS, I have also checked Security Log: Email/Delete Security Log File When… DELETE LOG FILE and DB Backup Log: Email/Delete DB Backup Log File When… DELETE LOG FILE.

    Also the Mails are sent to the Super Admin of a WP MU Installation. His email address is not even the one provided in the BPS email field.

    For now I have chosen to turn off logging completely…

    What is the scenario?
    Are you an administrator on a subsite?
    Are you an administrator on the Primary site?
    Which site are you changing email settings on? The Primary site or a subsite where you are an administrator?
    Is BPS Network Activated or activated per site?

    If you are an Administrator on a subsite then email alerting menus, options and settings are NOT available. email alerting is only available on the Primary site.

    Login Security has all the same functionality on Network/Multisite subsites with these exceptions:
    Login Security email alerting is not available for subsites.

    I log in as Super Admin for the Multisite network on the primary site, BPS Network is activated. This is where I try to change the settings.

    I cannot change the settings for subsites, there is no such button – I gather, that is because i have BPS Network activated.

    Please do note: I do not want any mails, I just want the logs to lay peacefully within the sites to be available in case I might need them.

    Subsites do not have email options (this may be added at a later date, but probably not). Only the Primary site has email options.

    The options you have chosen/are using are correct:

    Most likely the problem that is occurring on your website is you have another plugin or theme installed that is overriding the BPS plugin cron and/or email functions and options. We have seen this problem in the JobRoller Theme, which overrides all other plugin’s functionality/options/settings (most likely all other AppThemes Themes also do this).

    To isolate the plugin or theme that is causing this problem you would need do the standard WordPress troubleshooting steps. ie deactivate a plugin and test. ie switch your theme and test.

    If your site is a Live site that you cannot do the standard WordPress troubleshooting steps on since it would impact visitors to this site then clone the site / create a Development copy of the site to do the standard WordPress troubleshooting steps.
