   Hi,

   I used WP 2.8.x as a "pure CMS" an I wish myself to save the URL without the domainname. I understand the reason of this WP-feature... WP is the "only one" that save the complete URL with domain.

   If I change the domain name, I must change all inputs of the database - included the serialisized values of the Plugins and any Javascript variables. ...that is very unpractical!

   How I can switch that off in the core?

   WP uses PHP to output the url, so what you see in the HTML is the full url, but in reality it's dynamically generated. Do you want to change the domain name or move to a different host?
