How can I replace this little icon image with my own? (13 posts)

    I guess the question I really should be asking is where exactly is this located?
    http://i57.tinypic.com/30d8mdu.png

    According to Firebug it's this line '<span class="post_type_label "></span>'

    when I remove "post_type_label " it disappears,however i'd like to replace it with my own custom icon.

    Thanks!

    It's a background image for the span element. You could either locate the image called 30d8mdu.png in the theme's folder, call your icon the same way and replace it, or rewrite the rule for the post_type_label class in the CSS:

    .post_type_label {
     background: url(30d8mdu.png)0 0 no-repeat;
    }

    or something like this (I can't be more precise because I can't access the url that you provided since I get redirected to another page.). If you post the url of the page where the icon is and specify the icon you'd like to change I might be in a better position to give you the precise CSS.

    The filename is actually post-format-icons.png, but that image actually contains all the post format icons and the background-position property is used to frame the appropriate image. You should do what @antonietta456 suggested, but use your own image. The best thing to do would be to get a custom CSS plugin and put:

    post_type_label {
        background: url(path/to/image) 0 0 no-repeat;
    }

    @ stephencottontail,

    hey thanks for the reply.

    So I have Simple Custom CSS installed actually.
    Question though:
    So you're saying simply insert my images path like so?

    post_type_label {
    background: url(public_html/mysite.com/wp-content/themes/Shades/images/wc.png) 0 0 no-repeat;
    }

    or

    post_type_label {
    background: url(http://mysite.com/wp-content/themes/Shades/images/wc.png) 0 0 no-repeat;
    }

    I tried it both ways and neither worked...

    The first one is right. But I made a mistake in my previous post. It should be:

    .post_type_label {
    background: url(public_html/mysite.com/wp-content/themes/Shades/images/wc.png) 0 0 no-repeat;
    }

    Note the period in front.

    Would you by chance have time to look at my other question?
    Appreciate it.

    @stephencottontail

    ok, so I managed to remove the image, but how do im actually get my image to show?

    it's in the path just as advised it's not exactly the exact size as the default, (because it's just one icon image vs. several it's not as long, but I made the width the same...)

    help...

    What are the pixel dimensions of your image? You may need to fool around with the positioning. Try something like:

    .post_type_label {
    background: url(public_html/mysite.com/wp-content/themes/Shades/images/wc.png) 10px 10px no-repeat;
    }

    And then adjust the 10px 10px until you can see the image. If it still doesn't work, post a link to your website. It'll make it easier to chicken the positioning.

    The dimensions are 69x88

    But I actually tried a much smaller size as well and result, nothing.

    Could you post a link to your website? It would make it a lot easier.

    Actually the content is a bit racy, and I don't think it would be appreciated here on this forum.

    Thanks anyway.

    However, perhaps you could help me with another question?
