How can I put my own background in Accelerate theme?

    Hi im having a big trouble here in the CSS. I already put the body code
    background-image: url(images/3.jpg);

    At first it is working fine, but it do not satisfy me because the upper portion of the theme is only fill by the background. I also want the lower part. But when I opened it again, it is not displaying again!
    please someone help.
