[resolved] How can I prevent the main site from adding "blog" to post URLs? (3 posts)

I'm combining 13 wordpress sites into one and everything is working fine with one small exception.

For the primary site, WordPress automatically adds the word "blog" to the URL for post permalinks.

URLs that I want to read: domain.com/2010/07/13/post-name/
    instead read: domain.com/blog/2010/07/13/post-name/

This is horrible for me because it's breaking all of my permalinks. Is there a way to fix this without editing the core wordpress install or creating a plugin?

  2. You can do it manually or via plugins. Either way, be aware that this means your site will not check for collisions between site names and posts.

Thank you so much! I searched for hours and couldn't find this topic.

Believe it or not, searching for the word "blog" in a WordPress forum doesn't help narrow the results!
