does anyone know how to instruct SEO WordPress by Yoast to NOT use sitemap index? It seems to do so automatically?

To clarify, I want a sitemap. I just don't want the 'sitemap index' style of sitemap as it is causing issues.

In the 'XML sitemaps' section within WordPress SEO by Yoast, you can uncheck the boxes in the 'exclude post types' and 'exclude taxonomies' sections. This should do the trick.
