How can I make a WP page the homepage?

    I’m installing the latest WP (2.8.x) in the root of my domain. I would like to create a Page to serve as the root homepage for the domain instead of the blog. Is this possible or do I need to install WP into a folder off the root to do this (and if this is so, how do I get a WP page to be served at the root?)?

    Yes its possible.

    First you need to creat a page and name it what you want it to be, i.e welcome.

    Second you need a place for your blog posts to be displayed, so creat a blank page called blog.

    Now go to settings>>reading and select “A static page”, in the drop down menu chose the page you created first. And for your blog, in the drop down menu choose the page named blog.

    And there you have it 🙂
