How can I install without any feeds ? (4 posts)

    I want to install a totally isolated wordpress that never connects
    to anything incoming or outgoing (no feeds, trackbacks or anything at all except readers).

    Is there a simple way to achieve this without having to manually
    edit all the .PHP files?

    I notice on my dev site that it automatically connects to things
    when started - I need to prevent all of that too.

    thanks

  2. Dashboard/Settings/Discussion >> Pingbacks and trackbacks

    Disable feeds:

    Put in theme functions.php:

    function fb_disable_feed() {
    	wp_die( __('No feed available,please visit our <a href="'. get_bloginfo('url') .'">homepage</a>!') );
    }

    add_action('do_feed', 'fb_disable_feed', 1);
    add_action('do_feed_rdf', 'fb_disable_feed', 1);
    add_action('do_feed_rss', 'fb_disable_feed', 1);
    add_action('do_feed_rss2', 'fb_disable_feed', 1);
    add_action('do_feed_atom', 'fb_disable_feed', 1);
