• I have installed one wordpress system in my website http://www.abc.com. Copied all WP files folders in domains root and installed it and it is running.

Now I want to install a separate wordpress system e.g I want to install a blog in my site , and I want it in a subfolder http://www.abc.com/newwp/

The wordpress installation in http://www.abc.com/ and the wp installation in http://www.abc.com/newwp/ will be separate totally.

Shall I install two separate wp systems. Or shall I follow multisite installer or 2 separate normal wp installation?

When I need a multisite, do I need multisite ?

  • Depends on what you want to achieve, but both options are possible.
If you choose mutisite, you can share users, plugins, themes,…
If you choose separate wordpress, than you can use different configurations…

I would suggest to use multisite option, it seems like the wordpress way…

What is the basic funda of multisite ? Is it totally different websites by a single wordpress Installation and database ?

I have never used multisite. So I don’t know anything about it. But I think I am capable of grabbing the basics and hope I shall be able to install it.

Pretty much. It’s like running your own WordPress.com
