• I’ve finally found a theme that I really like, and it meets all my needs. Except one.

Something is blocking it from displaying the set featured image link in my admin when trying to post or create a page; it’s just not there.

When I switch to 2011, or 2012, it’s there. When I switch back to my theme, it’s not. I went to my theme’s support page, and haven’t gotten an answer, although I can extrapolate from reading the forums that some people have had similar issues, and others haven’t had the issue.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to what I can do to manipulate a theme’s code to get the set featured image link to show and display? Or am I simply S.O.L if I wanna use this theme?

Thanks for any guidance anybody can offer!

    Jason

Solution: I don’t know why this worked, but I added another plugin, and BAM — it was there.

The plugin I added was a plugin to exclude some pages from showing up in your menu: Exclude Pages.

Again, I can offer no logic for posterity as to why this worked, but it did, in case anybody else runs into a similar issue.

The only issue is that although I finally see a “set featured image” link and the link uploads, and shows in the admin, it still doesn’t show on the website, although I’ll look for a fix to that. At least I know the theme has the functionality now.

Hi alchymyth … I think it’s just the theme — Flexibility3. It looks attractive, but it’s *not* free even though he advertises it as such. It’s $79 — and if you’d like to pick from more skins and aren’t too adept w/ css, it’s more.

The functions.php is encoded and obfuscated, and the guy who made it has only responded to 1 support thread in 3 years.

Otherwise, I’d easily add the snippet to my functions.php. It looks good and all, but add a few plugins or import a few posts from another blog, and it’s a mess. And you’re left to figure out everything on your own.

I’ve spent hours altering files, etc., but when I imported posts from another blog, everything went to hell (lightbox, contact forms, etc.). And my sidebar became majorly messed up.

I finally managed to get the set featured image to show up in my admin when posting or creating a page, but it doesn’t show up on the website, although it gets uploaded to your media library.

Anyway, thanks for reading my post, alchymyth; I may start looking around for another theme with nice aesthetics … unless I can figure this out!
